Welcome to Textile Exchange
A free, public online marketplace where textile businesses, manufacturers, recyclers, and community organisations can list and find surplus textile materials.
About the Textile Circularity Portal
The Textile Circularity Portal has been developed to support greater reuse, resource efficiency, and waste reduction across the Yorkshire textile sector. Building on the insights of the Textile Mapping Project, this platform provides a practical, easy-to-use space where organisations can share surplus materials, redistribute unused assets, and collaborate toward a more circular textile economy.
This initiative is delivered in partnership with the Textile Centre of Excellence and is funded through Special Projects at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, who are supporting continued circularity and sustainability work within the regional textile industry.
What You Can Do
- List and exchange surplus fabrics, fibres, offcuts and materials
- Redistribute equipment, tools and other resources
- Connect with industry partners to reduce waste
- Support circularity goals across the textile supply chain
Our Mission
Our mission is to help the sector reduce environmental impact, maximise the value of unused resources, and enable collaboration between manufacturers, designers, educators, and recyclers. The portal builds directly on mapping work that identified significant opportunities for reuse across the industry and now provides the practical mechanism to act on those findings.
Together, we aim to create a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable textiles ecosystem for the region.
